A reminder that our postponed AGM will be held online, on Wednesday 19th May. Members will receive formal notice and agenda later this month.

U3A Groups

Our Group activities are emerging from hibernation! At the time of writing, COVID restrictions allow 6 people to meet outdoors, so we have restarted some of our activities. We hope to restart more as restrictions continue to ease.

  • U3A walks take place every Wednesday in a variety of locations around Slough. If there are more than 6 walkers, we split into smaller groups and go in different directions.
  • The Bridge for Fun group have met just once this year – in a member’s garden one sunny afternoon. We are hoping to meet again when weather permits.
  • Gardening Group (not surprisingly) has been meeting outdoors. This month’s project is restoring the garden at St Francis Church.

Health and Support

Healthwatch East Berkshire need your help to understand your health and social care needs. Our survey will help us understand local residents’ views and experiences as well as their health priorities. Our work relies on people telling us what they like about health and social care services, and what they think could be improved. We’ll feed your answers back anonymously into the region’s future plans for health and social care. Please click here to fill in the What Matters Most survey. Security – With warmer weather on the way remember to close and lock windows and doors when going out. Sheds and garages can become a target in the spring and summer with the top five items stolen being bikes, mowers, sports equipment, power and garden tools. It’s also a good time to test smoke alarm batteries to keep your family safe. Take a look at Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service’s smoke alarm tips here.
