Monthly General Meetings

This month’s meeting on December 14th will be our “Bring & Share” Christmas special, – if you can, please bring something nice to eat, which you can share with other U3A members. We’ll provide tea and coffee.
There’s no speaker at this meeting, instead we’ll be entertained by U3A members and their friends.

We meet at 2pm in St Andrew’s Church Hall in Merton Road, Slough SL1 1QW. The meeting is open to both u3a members and non-members – guests and potential members are always welcome. There is a small car park at the rear of the church which is available for those who have difficulties with mobility. Otherwise, please park in one of the pay-and-display car parks nearby, or in Upton Court Park (free) about 10 minutes’ walk away.

Slough U3A Groups News
The Outings Team arranged a coach trip to Oxford earlier this month. Sadly, several members had to cancel because of flu but 42 of us enjoyed the markets shops, galleries and museum. This was jointly arranged with Windsor Ramblers and a small group enjoyed a sunny but cold walk along the Thames and across Port Meadow.
Outings planned so far for next year include the Milestones Museum in Basingstoke, and Beaulieu (New Forest) in May.

Health and Support
The NHS across Frimley Health are seeking the views of patients who are suffering or have suffered with chronic pain to help shape the future of chronic pain services. We want to understand people’s current experience with chronic pain services, how chronic pain affects their daily life and how they would like chronic pain services to work in the future. The survey can be accessed here: https://mysay.is/ChronicPain
