Monthly General Meeting – April 2023
Our next General Meetings is on Wed 19th April. We’ll welcome Marilyn Fisher & Jeanne Stephen, together with guide dog Breck, who will describe the work of the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association
The Guide Dogs story started in 1931 with two British pioneers, Muriel Crooke and Rosamund Bond. We’ve come a very long way since those early days. Today Guide Dogs is the world’s largest breeder and trainer of working dogs – 36,000 lives have been transformed through a guide dog partnership since 1931.

Jeanne is a guide dog owner who has been visually impaired since birth. She will describe her life working with her guide dog, Breck, and the difference he has made to her independence and quality of life.
Marilyn is the Group Organiser for Guide Dogs in South Buckinghamshire.
Our General Meeting starts at 2pm in St Andrew’s Church Hall in Merton Road, Slough SL1 1QW. The meeting is open to both u3a members and non-members; we always welcome guests and potential members who are interested in our talks and activities.
The small car park at the rear of the church is available for those who have difficulties with mobility. Otherwise, we ask you to please park in one of the pay-and-display car parks nearby, or in Upton Court Park (free) about 10 minutes’ walk away.
