The objective of U3A walks is to enjoy and learn about the rich area in & around Slough. This includes rivers, lakes, listed parkland, nature reserves, and a number of historic sites, towns, buildings and churches. Our walks generally start and finish at a cafe or tea shop within a few miles of Slough, the pace is leisurely on good paths, and the distance walked is between 3 and 4 miles over the course of 90 minutes.
Anyone is welcome to join us for a trial walk, but we will ask you join the U3A if you want to come regularly.
For all walks, please check the weather forecast on the day, and wear suitable clothing. All walks are likely to be muddy, so walking shoes are recommended. For walks which are not near Slough, please contact the walk leader to arrange car sharing.
Walks led by Slough U3A start at 2 pm on the second Wednesday of each month, at varied locations. We also have a program of longer walks which are kindly led by Windsor Ramblers. These take place on the last Wednesday of every month (Dorney) and the second Thursday of each month (Virginia Water).
